One of the great passions of family De Rooy is participating in DAKAR Rally. We participate in the DAKAR Rally with the use of our innovative techniques. Ever since 1982 we participate on the highest level of truckracing and we are very successful.
After winning in 1982 and 1987, we took the first and second place in 2012. In 2016, we won four places among the best ten ones: the first, third, fifth and tenth place in the final classification.
In 2018 finite team De Rooy, despite the fact that we won six stages, this time took the eighth place in the final classification.
This year, 2019, De Rooy also participated in the Dakar rally. In the 5000 kilometers of competition through the immense sand dunes of Peru, the treacherous sand and the narrow gorges, the Dakar rally of 2019 was more exciting than ever before. All De Rooy teams managed to reach the finish. With third place in the final classification for Gerard de Rooy and three stage victories - Ton van Genugten also wrote the final stage for a second - Petronas Team De Rooy Iveco looks back with a satisfied feeling at the Dakar Rally 2019.
For decades now team De Rooy has been participating in DAKAR Rally, with a large dose of determination and full of enthusiasm. We wanted to give our employees this same euphoric feeling, during an event called De Rooy Dakar Experience everybody had a chance to meet the real rally competitors, or even drive one of De Rooy's DAKAR vehicles. This was a huge succes, as you can see in the video down below.
